Why I decided to create a space to express myself?
The reason I find a blog to be so appealing as my means to express my thoughts + ideas is that I have many different thoughts that don't always channel directly into one arena. I am a Manifesting Generator (if you don't know what that is we will get into it in a later post) but basically it is like a personality type-an energy type, like (and not like) Myers Briggs or the Enneagram. With that said, my best work comes out scattered + unplanned (following with lights me up) and my attention and interests lie in many different areas.
What would make you interested in hearing what I have to say, offer and create?
I guess it would be that you like that style of receiving information too. You aren't over-whelmed by it and it inspires you. Just as other blogs in similar styles have inspired me. So playing off of what my personality needs and what inspired me to start this blog leads me to my next point.
Not everyone is meant to be one thing in life, have one job title until they die and that's it.
First, I feel like more + more people and specifically women, are acquiring more than one job title these days. And hey, if this isn't you and you like the one job title life by all means that's just as amazing, one is NOT better than the other. But, what I am saying is that the world up to this point isn't really designed for people to have more than one career, ya know? For example, it's kind of hard to have MULTIPLE 9-5 jobs. And don't get me wrong I'm sure there are people who have hacked the multiple job/hats thing but right now there aren't any mainstream, easily accessible paths for people who think like that or want that. Take going to college or trade school for example. You have to declare a major, which for someone like me is majorly disappointing because there's just so much I'd like to explore and so little time and it just isn't plausible in the college process as it is now. And how many people do you know who went to school for something and then ended up doing something totally different? or ended up going back to school all together more than once?
Career Decision
With all that being said I guess a big reason I chose to go to school for art education was because of the variety + creativity it would bring to my everyday life. With all the different mediums + constant turn-over of students each year, it keeps things lively + stimulating. I also enjoy the sense of community. I love sharing and exchanging ideas with people of all ages and personalities.
It wasn't enough
I found myself still searching for more though. Wanting a different outlet to leak-out all my creative offerings, ones that couldn't reach their highest potential in teaching public school. Schools have curriculum and rules and healthy boundaries, but I found myself needing to find another space to discuss, create and explore beyond the 4 walls of a governed establishment. A place where I could chat about the stars, energy, life-purpose and so very much more. So I found myself here and apparently you did too. Glad you did. I plan to share thoughts, tools and interesting finds, life experience, art and wisdom, take what you need, leave what you don't.
