Each season comes and goes, festive winter, cold winter, tease ya spring, blooming spring, dreamy midsummer, dead heat summer, crisp morning fall and everything is dead fall + so it continues (these are my original interpretations of course ;) Each season brings with it its own lessons and vibes that aid us through the wheel of the year and the changes that come with a cyclical life. The zodiac in Western Astrology has 12 signs that are aligned with different parts of the year. There are 2 signs per season and 4 individual signs that land in between seasons. Aries and Taurus land in spring, Gemini lands in between spring and summer. Cancer and Leo land in summer and Virgo lands in between summer and fall. Libra and Scorpio land in fall and Sagittarius lands in between fall and winter. Capricorn and Aquarius land in winter and Pisces lands between winter and spring and so it continues. Each of these signs has a vibe and it very much aligns with the feelings and sensation of the season or seasons it correlates with. Pisces season is no different. So what does Pisces season bring with it?
Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac, so technically it is the end of the astrological year. It carries the most knowledge and emotional insight. It can in turn, connect the most, blurring the lines between what is individual and what is collective energy. Piscean energy is laced with a deep understanding and respect for all of humankind or alien alike. Wanting and willing to help anyone one in need by going as far as sacrificing themselves for the betterment of all. Pisces or not during this season everyone is feeling this energy and has the ability to work with this in their favor, though sometimes this energy can coax out feelings of overwhelm and stir too many emotions especially in sensitive individuals. This causes people to want to escape and check out of reality. On the other hand many individuals may feel hyper-aware or highly intuitive feeling into their dreams. This is a time during the year where dreams or even downloads can come through crystal clear.
The collective has to be careful not to fall Into the habit of avoiding reality by drinking too much or altering their state of mind in anyway to escape. It is okay to have a healthy balance between going with the flow and taking time to dream and create while still functioning in your everyday life. One thing that can definitely be felt during this season is the strong need to just slow down, if not, come to a halt. It will feel more like a pause where if you were excelling at full speed its like someone flipped a switch and gravity gave out and now you are floating unable to control your now crawling pace. This is the perfect time to just give in especially if you are type A personality and surrender to this cosmic energy that encourages you to retreat into the next step or the last cycle of the astrological year before you level up.
Pisces season always makes me think of a caterpillar just settling into or surrendering to the incubation that comes with the cocoon. The squirmy caterpillar doesn’t necessarily want to transition into a sedated state but as soon as it surrenders, it will being the most rapid transformation and growth just from its own state of being. There is no heavy lifting, fast pace hustling or wild movement of any kind. To anyone looking in from the outside it doesn’t appear that anything is happening. It is like the soil bare, cold and dark, right before the sprouts rise upon the earth. And just like that the butterfly emerges.
While we are in our “cocoon” this last leg of winter we too can look like we aren’t doing anything significant, we might even be hard on ourselves because we feel like we should be doing more. We need to remember that even while in a state of just being we learn, sometimes more, about ourselves than when we are creating, moving busily and being social. Reflecting inward and spending time with ourselves just being is where the power and beauty grows and in the end reveals a creature ready to soar.
