New Moon in Taurus - Mars-Pluto opposition

What do you value + what brings you peace + do you see it presently?

This new moon brings these questions to our mind.

Taurus is the sign of the beautiful, bountiful bull.

An eloquent real-life lawn ornament whose purpose is to remind us of how holy the very moment we are in is.

Making us think, “ah to feel sunshine on my body is the blessing, lets relish in it”.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had a few of those moments since the sun entered Taurus on April 20th.

This time of the year- mid-spring -feels like the perfect place to pause if only for a moment when things are waking up after a long winter. This is when it just feels good to be outside under the sun, to just stroll through the day. Taurus is material, it is what the earth itself is made of, minerals, rocks and sediment. It is what we plant our seeds in, it is a container, a holder of space and water, fuel for the fire, you can’t start one without it. You need stones to spark or twigs to rub or bark to burn.

Taurus is materializing. Taurus grounds spring as our reality around us.

It is the soft blanket.

It is the sweet scent of honey suckle.

It is the warm sun.

It reminds us we are here in this body.

Venus rules Taurus hence all the pleasure and beauty.

What is Venus doing and what other big aspects are happening during this new moon?

Venus is in Pisces with Saturn and the north node -there is a Mars-Pluto opposition.

With Venus, Saturn and the north node in Pisces we have Saturn which connects us to our karma, Venus which connects us to our self-expression and our values and the north node which pushes us to evolve all meeting up in the sign of Pisces signifying endings, surrender and collective compassion and idealism. We can see karmic subconscious patterns coming to an end, with all this Pisces energy over the last few years we have really been called to release old karmic patterns. As well as Venus calling for us to connect with our true values after thinking ideally what they would be -really asking us to double down on them after going through some kind of loss and with the north node next to these two energies reminding us that what we are moving towards is a part of our path so take your dreams seriously.

With the Mars-Pluto opposition we have tension during this new moon that will dissipate as the moon waxes and wanes through its following phases. This tension can be reactive and involve conflict and with that initiates the transformation that lies around the karmic things we need to let go of and the ideal values we now desire to instill in our lives. No one likes a mess, but a mess is a catalyst to clean. Without tension we stay too comfortable whether or not it is good for us, we’d stay because there was no urge to move.

A usual Mars-Pluto transit lasts 2-3 days but this one has been playing out for a while because Mars was retrograde for so long and hanging around Pluto because of it. This could signify we really needed this unsticking in these areas of our lives (wherever you have Taurus, Leo and Aquarius)

So, this new moon- 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after has this energy attached to it most potently- depending on how it hits your chart you may feel it more strongly. Stop rushing.

It’s all happening, and it seems like it has taken forever but here it is.

Let your body be your guide.

Let it tell you if you are overwhelmed or if your pace is right.

Because your body knows first, before your mind and we only need to slow down enough to notice it speaking to us to hear what it has to say.

With Taurus ruling the throat- your voice and what and how you speak is important now- so, take your time when asking for something and take your time responding.

Don’t do anything just to do it.

Do it with decisive integrity – intentional and purposefully.
